All around him Tristan’s world began to shake; the jungle vista gave way to a messy boy’s room, strewn with toys, wooden blocks and a crashed cardboard yellow biplane. Then his world shook again the vision of the room vision melted to be replaced with a bluey inky darkness and the smell of a musty cardboard box. Tristan could now hear voices. Was his boy finally coming back for him? Excitement grew inside the Teddy Bear very soon he would be reunited with his boy and be able to resume his role as the most faithful of companions. Tristan could feel a warm glow inside him soon he would feel the joy of being played with again. For it had been a long time since Tristan was packed away and left to slumber in the dark, and he was feeling very lonely.
The tape on the box snapped, the lid opened and a yellow light shone in his face. Blinking Tristan could make out two shadowy figures, one shorter than the other and he raised his paw to shield his eyes from the light. He could see a grubby white furred Bunny, with light blue eyes, lopped ears tied with red ribbon, wearing a tatty pink tutu and holding silver handled flashlight. Almost immediately Tristan was seized up and hugged so tight he thought his eyes were going to pop out. The Bunny was Wilma, the cuddly toy that once belonged to his boy’s sister and she was the sometimes partner on his adventures. Wilma finally released Tristan and starting talking a mile a minute about how she was rescued from a very damp box and how they searched the entire attic for him once the Boggles had learned that Tristan was up here. Wilma’s introduced her companion an old Boggle, a crooked nosed creature that takes discarded and broken toys, fixes them and leaves them in the room of deserving children. Indeed this Boggle was the very same one Tristan had encountered many years ago sorting through his child’s old toys. The Boggle shook Tristan’s paw and to the Teddy Bear’s great surprise asked for his help.
